It's the news you've been waiting for, PS Vita owners and Atlus nerds! Persona 4: The Golden is coming (to Japan, at least) on June 14th, 2012. No word yet on an Atlus USA release, but it'll be a foggy day in the TV World if they don't announce it at some point.

In case you've been living under a rock these past few months, The Golden is an enhanced PS Vita port of arguably the great PS2 RPG (hint: Persona 4). It will contain, among other things, new story events, new animated cutscenes, new battle system tweaks, new characters, new social links, new music, and..mopeds. Which are also new.

Importers who fear not the language barrier can opt to cough up extra yens for  a "Famitsu DX Pack" special edition, which comes with postcards, posters, and a pouch. Check out an old trailer for the game below.

Between this news and the Persona 4 Arena announcement, this is a good time for Atlus nerds. SO EXCITE!

Creepy mahou shoujo fans have once again been causing trouble, this time apparently having the temerity to go to the same cinema as a mother with her daughter – who naturally felt there was some danger of her daughter being ravished somehow by such an unwelcome interloper.

From a question posed to the notoriously erudite inhabitants of Yahoo! (and now removed for reasons which can only be guessed at):

I went to the cinema with my daughter to watch Precure and there was a single man there!

Honestly, it’s creepy, and I wouldn’t want him to sit next to a child or anything.

I’d be worried about what he might do…

Can’t they at least keep out of cinemas showing films for kids during the day?

How she would respond on learning that the makers of Precure deliberately market their anime both to little girls and creepy otaku men is probably best left to the imagination.

Creepy single men have a lot to say about this in any case:

“This is a bit too frank…”

“One of the responses says that ‘Maybe the guy didn’t want to sit next to your kid because he thought she was creepy. I’d like them to ban noisy kids from the cinema!’ Stop that!”

“Adults should go at night though.”

“The persecution complex of the questioner and the megalomania of all the answers seem to be at cross-purposes there.”

“I bet you guys were all going in there on the opening day weekend with all the families. I would have crept in on the early morning weekday showing and shamefully sat at the back.”

“Next up is banning men from toy and sweet shops, isn’t it?”

“They should ban schoolgirls from sentai and Kamen Rider movies too then.”

“If you sit at the front they are not going to be able to see past your head. Please sit at the back.”

“Perhaps they should do it like with the women only carriages – allocate a block of family seating in each theatre?”

“I bet she doesn’t realise he was there for the MILFs…”

“Relax ladies, we’re only interested in middle schoolers, not your little brats.”

The final disc release of top guro anime Blood-C has not disappointed fans of horrendous bloodshed, with blood and brains flying from a variety of terrifying wounds, even as the unfortunate heroines are impaled, blown to bits and torn to shreds.

A cast-off capable PVC version of the previously released cold cast and ever under-dressed Kanu Unchou figure will be released in April 2012, thanks again to Griffon Enterprises.

Compile Heart's game to be released on PS3 on Thursday

A series of Nintendo Direct events are set to take place tomorrow, as creatively announced today through Swapnote messages sent out to 3DS owners. This is the third time Nintendo Direct is taking place and as Nintendo of America and Europe will each be hosting their own videos, as opposed to a broadcast only in Japanese, we should be getting much more information that is of interest to those outside of Japan.

The trend seems to be for Nintendo to showcase content through Nintendo Direct every two months. The first one took place in October, and although it did not bring with it any earth-shattering revelations, there were some newsworthy announcements. We received details on the 3DS system update adding 3D movie recordings and new StreetPass content, specifics on Mario Kart 7's online functionality, and new games were announced for Japan.
